AI Form Generator — API Key Configuration

CF7 Mate’s AI Form Generator works with four AI providers. You only need one API key to get started — choose whichever provider you already have an account with, or the one you prefer.

OpenAI

1. Go to platform.openai.com/api-keys and sign in or create an account.
2. Click Create new secret key, give it a name (e.g. CF7 Mate), and click Create.
3. Copy the key — it starts with sk-.
4. To enable usage, go to Settings → Billing and add a payment method.

Recommended model: GPT-4o Mini

Anthropic (Claude)

1. Go to console.anthropic.com/settings/keys and sign in or create an account.
2. Click Create Key, give it a name (e.g. CF7 Mate), and click Create Key.
3. Copy the key — it starts with sk-ant-.
4. Go to Settings → Billing and add a payment method to activate your key.

Recommended model: Claude Sonnet 4

Grok (xAI)

1. Go to console.x.ai and sign in with your X (Twitter) account.
2. Navigate to API Keys and click Create API Key.
3. Copy the key — it starts with xai-.
4. Add credits under the Billing section to enable usage.

Recommended model: Grok 3 Mini

Kimi (Moonshot)

1. Go to platform.moonshot.cn/console/api-keys and sign in or create an account.
2. Click Create API Key and copy the key — it starts with sk-.
3. Top up credits under Billing to activate usage.

Recommended model: Moonshot 32K

Adding Your Key to CF7 Mate

Once you have your API key, connect it in a few steps:

1. In your WordPress admin, go to CF7 Mate → AI Provider.
2. Select your provider from the list.
3. Paste in your API key.
4. Click Test Connection to confirm everything is working.
5. Click Save Settings.

Your API key is encrypted before being stored and is never exposed anywhere in the admin interface.
